All-Telemann concert at the Arts Centre
Concert Master and First Violinist Susan Barak has organized the all-Telemann concert taking place at the Bradford Arts Centre on October 28. Submitted.
Telemann's Les Nations and Sinfonia Spirituosa. Concerto for Recorder and Flute. Concerto for 3 Violins. Burlesque de Quixotte.
The October 28 concert at the Bradford Arts Centre by the York Chamber Ensemble will offer a full evening of Georg Philipp Telemann, in celebration of the 250th anniversary of the composer's death.
The music of Telemann, a contemporary of Handel and Johann Sebastian Bach, has been described as “an important link between the late Baroque and early Classical styles” - and the evening promises to be a rare delight for lovers of classical music.
The York Chamber Ensemble regularly performs in Aurora, at Trinity Anglican Church. This will be the group's first appearance in Bradford, in the exceptional acoustics of the Bradford Arts Centre, 66 Barrie St. The concert begins at 7:30 p.m. on October 28. Tickets are $20; only $15 for Seniors and Students. For more information or tickets, see bradfordartscentre.org, or call 905-751-5335 – or see www.yorkchamberensemble.ca.
